Box Score NAMPA, Idaho – The Northwest Nazarene University volleyball team opened Great Northwest Athletic Conference play with a 25-17, 28-26, 25-16 win over Simon Fraser University at the Johnson Sports Center on the NNU campus.

Remaining unbeaten on the season at 9-0, the Crusaders duo of Madi Farrell and Kendra Bodine again led the charge as Farrell had 15 kills and Bodine just missed a double-double with 12 kills and nine digs.

"Simon Fraser is a very good defensive team and they made us work really hard in transition," NNU head coach Doug English commented.  "Our hitters were patient and took the opportunities when they got them."

Farrell hit .448 to continue her efficient play from the weekend where she earned 2017 Division II West Regional Showcase all-tournament team honors and was named the GNAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week this afternoon.

English continued, "Hailey (Cook) played really well tonight, she was getting us the one on one opportunities and setting the right people in the right spots."

Senior setter Cook, who will appear on tomorrow night's GNAC podcast at 8 p.m. MT, finished with a match-high 38 assists, four kills, and 10 digs.
