Box Score FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Northwest Nazarene volleyball team overcame a first-set loss to knock off Alaska 20-25, 25-13, 25-22, 25-19 in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match Thursday.
The victory was the fourth in a row for the Nighthawks (20-1, 12-1 GNAC), who play at Alaska Anchorage on Saturday at 9 p.m. MDT.
"After the first set we settled into our offensive game plan, which was set the middles and the right sides," NNU coach
Doug English said. "From that, Madi (Farrell) and Cami (Heninger) had good nights. It is always tough to win on the road and we are excited to have gotten this one."
Farrell finished with 16 kills and three blocks, while Heninger added 13 and two digs.
Kendra Bodine led the way with 18 kills, 13 digs and two aces, while
Shayli Siegfreid had 18 digs and three assists. Setter
Hailey Cook had 45 assists.
The first set loss was the first set the Nighthawks have dropped since losing in five to Central Washington on October 10.
