NAMPA, Idaho – Kendra Bodine had another big match as the 12th-ranked Northwest Nazarene University volleyball team defeated Western Oregon University 25-12, 25-16, 25-18 this afternoon in a GNAC match at the Johnson Sports Center.

Bodine, a senior outside from Eugene, Ore., finished with 19 kills and just one attack error to hit .562 for the match.  Madi Farrell reached double-figures with 11 kills and was also extremely efficient, needing only 16 swings to hit .438 during the three set match.

"We had a really good week of practice and played two great matches this week," commented NNU head coach Doug English.  "Hailey (Cook) did a good of sticking to the game plan and finding our hitters one-on-one opportunities."

Cook finished with a match-high 42 assists in leading the NNU offense to a .320 hitting percentage and improving their record to 19-1 overall and 11-1 in conference play.  The Nighthawks are in first place in the GNAC and travel to face the University of Alaska next Thursday and the University of Alaska Anchorage one week from today.

"We know Kendra is one of the best players in the GNAC and she probably had the best week of her career in the last two matches," English added.  "When she does that…we are very hard to beat."

Western Oregon falls to 6-13 overall and 2-10 in league action.  The Wolves were led by Katherine Huntington with 7 kills and Alisha Bettinson with 6.

Both matches next week will begin at 7:00 p.m. AT
