NAMPA, Idaho – The Northwest Nazarene University men's soccer team scored two goals in the opening 2:30 of the match to take control and win a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match 3-1 over Montana State University Billings this afternoon at the NNU Soccer Field.

Edwin Quiroz scored an unassisted goal just 26-seconds into the match, dribbling in and converting from 15-yards for the quick strike, only to be matched by teammate Jonathan Bryant just two minutes later when he stole a pass and fired a scoring shot from 20-yards away to make it 2-0.

The Crusaders (5-5-1, 2-3-1 GNAC) would add an insurance goal in the 77th-minute when Jake Levine took an Edwin Quiroz pass from the midfield to win a 1v1 against MSUB goalkeeper Tom Lohmann for the counter.

MSUB (5-8-0, 3-4-0 GNAC) avoided the shutout in the 82nd-minute when Guillaume Kremer scored on a set-piece from 25-yards away.

Jacob Hillyer had one save for the Crusaders, while Lohmann had five for the Yellowjackets.

NNU will return to action next weekend, playing at Seattle Pacific on Thursday and Concordia on Saturday.
