BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A pair of early goals set the tone for a disappointing evening for the Crusaders.

Host and fifth-ranked Western Washington scored 56 seconds into the game, and added a second goal 5:52 later, pulling away early and scoring a 5-0 win over the Northwest Nazarene women's soccer team in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action Saturday night.

The Vikings (11-0-1 overall, 6-0-0 GNAC) tacked on two more goals in the first half and scored the game's final goal 9:53 into the second half.

Tennyson Young, Cassandra Clarke and Brooke Felzien led the Crusader offense, each recording a shot in the contest, while Daniele Ortiz made nine saves in goal for NNU (3-9-0, 1-6-0).

"We played a really great second half in some tough weather conditions," NNU head coach Mary Trigg said. "I hope we can take our spirit and attitude in the second half into next week."

The Crusaders now return home to host Concordia on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Finkbeiner Park on the NNU campus.
