BURNABY, B.C. — A late surge by host Simon Fraser proved to be too much to overcome for the Crusaders.
With the Northwest Nazarene women's soccer team looking for the tying goal, instead the Clan scored twice late to ice a 3-0 victory in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action Thursday in Canada.
The Clan snagged an early 1-0 lead 19 minutes, 4 seconds into the game, but NNU (3-8-0 overall, 1-5-0 GNAC) held tough and battled to tie the game for the next 57 minutes.

Kaisa Tsuruta all had shots, trying to tie the game for the Crusaders, but none could find the back of the net.
Eventually, Simon Fraser (5-3-1, 3-2-0) did find the back of the net, though, pulling away with a goal in the 77
th minute and another just 2:50 later to ice the game.

NNU is back in action on the road on Saturday, playing at No. 5 Western Washington at 7 p.m. (Pacific time).
