th minute, and try as they might the Northwest Nazarene women's soccer team couldn't overcome the constant rain, nor the Saints, falling 1-0 in the season finale for both Great Northwest Athletic Conference foes.
"The weather was hard to overcome today and was definitely an advantage for them," NNU head women's soccer coach
Mary Trigg said, adding, "but even still, we created great chances: A couple breakaways, a goal on a corner called back.
"We worked really hard and put them under tons of pressure at the end, but just couldn't finish our chances," NNU's coach said as the Crusaders concluded their season with a 5-11-1 overall mark and a 2-9-1 record in GNAC play.
Instead, it was the Saints (2-14-0, 1-11-0) who netted the lone goal of the day as Abby McFaul booted home a Gloria Petri assist with 25:11 gone.
NNU pressed forward, looking to even the score, but Chelsie Still made saves on both Crusader chances on goal, and NNU had a potential game-tying goal waved off, spoiling the season finale for Northwest Nazarene.
Daniele Ortiz made four saves in goal for the Crusaders in the game.
