Box Score MONMOUTH, Ore. — The Crusaders got caught by a fast-starting Wolves team Thursday afternoon.
Western Oregon scored twice in the opening 15 minutes then held on to top visiting Northwest Nazarene, 3-1, in women's Great Northwest Athletic Conference soccer.
Hannah Holm answered the fast start with a goal 17:02 into the action, trimming the difference to 2-1 for the Crusaders, who couldn't complete the comeback.

Mary Trigg said. "It came from great possession from Ashley (Cook-Cox) and Nicole (Nsa).
"Unfortunately, the goal wasn't enough today."
Try as they might to even the score, the Crusaders (5-8-1 overall, 2-6-1 GNAC) found themselves playing catch-up all day instead.
The margin grew back to two goals when Western Oregon (7-6-1, 3-5-1) scored 21 seconds into the second half, icing the victory.
Daniele Ortiz made nine saves in goal for the Crusaders in the setback, as Western Oregon outshot NNU, 15-7.
The Crusaders return home from the quick road-trip to host Concordia on Saturday at noon for "Senior Day" at Finkbeiner Park on the NNU campus.
