"For Groves to come in and give up the lead-off home run and to turn the page and not let it affect him, that's what we've been looking for and that's what we've been missing this year," Musgraves said. "So hey, 'hats off to the Crusaders.'"
Groves responded to the solo shot by getting the next three Warrior batters to pop out, securing his third save and preserving the ninth win of the season for Vaughn (9-2).
"LC State is a class program, I always have the utmost respect for their program, especially for (LCSC) coach Jeremiah Robbins, he does such a great job," Musgraves said. "That's what makes this one so special, when you beat such a great team."
A big momentum-building win in a nonconference contest for NNU, which next weekend plays for the third and final GNAC playoff berth at Montana State Billings.
"The reason it's big to me is it shows us we can do it, and sometimes I don't think we believe we can do it, and I think this showed our guys, we can comeback from deficits against good teams," Musgraves said. "That's what I like is it showed we can come back and beat somebody."
