BILLINGS, Mont. — Fredy Razo provided the offense on a day when the Crusaders played a bit shorthanded.

Razo, who tied a Great Northwest Athletic Conference and Northwest Nazarene record last season with four goals against Montana State Billings, again stung the Yellowjackets, this time for all three goals in NNU's 3-0 road win to close out the regular season Saturday.

"Today is all about the squad," NNU head men's soccer coach Coe Michaelson said, as NNU rested starters Alfredo E. Ontiveros, Erik Anderson, Rene Duevel, Jaime Verdin, Bryan Neba and Julio Castillo.

"To leave out six starters and walk away with a convincing win is a credit to the quality we have on this team from top to bottom."

And of course, a prolific scorer like Razo helps, too.

Razo netted his first of the day just 4 minutes, 29 seconds into the action off a Michael Mollay assist.

Steven Garcia then set up Razo for his second goal with 13:39 gone, giving the Crusaders (14-3-1 overall, 11-2-1 GNAC) a commanding early edge.

Razo then capped his hat trick with goal No. 3 — his 12^th of the season — with 10:17 gone in the second half, finishing off a Marshall Hartley assist.

Ryan Foo made four saves in goal, making sure the three-goal lead wasn't threaten, securing his first shutout of the season and the team's ninth.

The win gives the Crusaders an all-time program best 14 total wins on the year and second place in the final GNAC standings.

And it sets up the Crusaders for what they hope will be a first-ever berth to the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
