SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - For the second time this season, a late goal spoiled the day for the Northwest Nazarene women's soccer team.

Lauren Gollnick booted home a rebound off the goal post with 4 minutes, 32 seconds left in regulation, lifting host Dominican University to a 1-0 win over the visiting Crusaders in nonconference soccer Saturday.

"If we don't score we don't win, that's the big problem right now," said first-year NNU coach Mary Trigg, whose team lost 1-0 in overtime to open the season at San Francisco State on Thursday. "Every game we have our chances, good chances too. We've just got to get better at our finishing because we're creating chances, we're moving the ball."

The Crusaders (0-2-0 overall) managed eight shots in the game, but simply couldn't get a ball past Penguins goalkeeper Megan Herring, who made two saves in the shutout win.

Argia Phillips made eight saves in goal for the Crusaders, who were outshot by Dominican (1-1-0) 14-8 in the contest.

Kelsey Martin, who led NNU's offense on Thursday with six shots, again helped lead the way with a pair of shots. Kayla Williams also had two shots for the Crusaders, who turned in another strong effort despite the disappointing outcome.

"We kept the ball, I felt like we were moving on them, being creative on the attack, they're getting good looks," said Trigg, whose team looks to bounce back next weekend when NNU hosts Canyon County rival The College of Idaho at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
