Western Oregon Sweeps Crusaders

NAMPA, Idaho - Eleven-time Great Northwest Athletic Conference defending champions Western Oregon University defeated the Northwest Nazarene Crusaders in both games of today's double-header baseball action held at Vail Field in Nampa, Idaho.
 
In game one Blake Miller of WOU went 3 for 4 with 4 RBI's. In the top of the fourth inning Miller hit a two-run homerun over the left field wall to get the Wolves on the board first. Western Oregon (11-8, 6-2 GNAC) scored 2 runs in each of the final two innings to take the 6-2 victory.
 
Logan Parker went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. Tyson Flannery took the loss on the mound dropping to 0-3.
 
In game two the Crusaders scored in fifth inning when Charlie Gorzo doubled to left center and brought in Parker for the only NNU run. Gorzo was 2 for 4 from the plate with an RBI.
 
In the sixth inning Josh Wong hit a two-run homerun over left field to pull the Wolves up one. Tim Rausch hit a homerun in the top of the seventh inning to put WOU up 3-1. The Wolves would hold on to the lead and take the final game in Nampa.
 
Fernando Robles would take the loss on the mound falling to 1-2.
 
NNU (8-13, 2-6 GNAC) will now travel to face Montana State University Billings next Friday. Double-header action will begin at 1:00 p.m. in Billings, Montana.
