NAMPA, Idaho – Sophomore
Tate Glasgow hit a two-run walk off homerun in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Northwest Nazarene University baseball team past Saint Martin's University in game two of today's double-header held at Vail Field in Nampa, Idaho.
The Crusaders, who found themselves down 7-1 going into the final inning, rallied back to score seven runs and get the 8-7 victory.
Jamie Mitchell brought the first run in after a double down the left field line.
Kaleb DeHaas then hit a two run homerun over the left field wall to pull the Crusaders within one. With
Greg Hata on third, and a 3-2 count, Glasgow hit his game winning homerun over the center field wall.
Mitchell led the Crusaders in game two going 3 for 3 from the plate and had 1 RBI. DeHaas and Glasgow each had 2 RBI's for NNU.
Skyler Souza earned the win on the mound improving to 1-0.
In game one, after trailing 6-2 the Crusaders used a five run seventh inning to pull ahead and get the 8-7 win from the Saints.
Greg Hata homered over the left field wall in the bottom of the eight inning for the Crusaders.
Jon Matos had 3 RBI's while DeHaas, Robles and Ferdinand all had 2 hts in today's first game.
Nate Forseth received the win on the mound for NNU while
Andrew Groves got his third save of the season.
The Crusaders improve to 12-15 overall and 6-8 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play. The Saints fall to 3-25 and 1-13 in GNAC action. Both teams will finish the four game series tomorrow starting at noon at Vail Field on the Campus of NNU.
