Crusaders Hold On For Season Finale Win

NAMPA, Idaho – Led by a strong first half showing by senior Keith Moilanen the Crusader men's basketball team held off a second half comeback by Western Oregon University to come out on top 94-90 in tonight's Great Northwest Athletic Conference final regular season game.
 
Senior Kenny Jones led the Crusaders with 21 points while going 9 of 10 from the free throw line. Moilanen ended the game with 18 points, with 15 coming from beyond the arc. Kevin Rima posted his fifth double-double of the year with 15 points and game-high 18 rebounds. Senior Jonathan Hawkins finished the game with 15 points. Michal Kurimsky chipped in 12 points for NNU.
 
Andy Avgi had 27 points on 9 of 15 shooting from the floor to lead Western Oregon. Tyler Funk had 13 points and Rodney Webster had 12 of his own. Both James Gehring and Devon Alexander had 10 points.
 
The Crusaders were 27 of 63 (42.9-percent) from the field and 32 of 42 (76.2-percent) from the free throw line. The Wolves were 32 of 70 (42.9-percent) from the floor and 20 of 24 (83.3-percent) from the charity stripe.
 
NNU wraps up the 2012-13 season with a final 13-13 overall record and 7-11 in GNAC regular season play.
