Yellow Jackets Win Two In Billings

BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana State University baseball team swept a Great Northwest Athletic Conference twinbill from the Crusaders this afternoon, winning game one 13-11 and taking the second game 5-4.
 
The Crusaders (8-15, 2-8 GNAC) grabbed an 11-5 lead in game one after five innings of play. However, the Yellow Jackets brought in four runs in both the seventh and eighth innings to take the lead and hold on for the victory.


Jon Matos was 3 for 6 from the plate and had 4 RBI's. Skyler Souza went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI's for the Crusaders.

Austin Rue led the Yellow Jackets (10-15, 6-4 GNAC), going 2 for 5 from the plate and had 4 RBI's. Bryce Todd went 2 for 5 and brought in three runs for MSUB.
 
Andrew Groves took the loss for the Crusaders dropping to 0-1.
 
In game two the Yellow Jackets' Samual Paterson improved to 2-4 on the mound after 6 innings pitched. Bobby Ragasa earned the save for MSUB.
 
MSUB scored four runs in the first inning and one more in the third. Mack Unruh led the team going 1 for 3 with 2 RBI's.

Gorzo paced the Crusaders with two hits. Kaleb DeHaas hit a three run homerun in the second inning.

The teams will return to double-header action tomorrow at Noon at Dehler Park in Billings, Montana.
