Falcons Clip the Crusaders 63-52

SEATTLE, Wash. – Seattle Pacific University topped the Crusaders of Northwest Nazarene University 63-52 in tonight's Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's basketball showdown.
 
Kevin Rima led the Crusaders with 11 points in 18 minutes of play. Kenny Jones and Michal Kurimsky each added 10 points for NNU.
 
David Downs had 17 points to lead the nationally ranked No. 5 SPU Falcons. Downs was 4 of 8 from the floor and 7 of 8 from the free-throw line. Andy Poling added 15 points on 5 of 11 shooting for SPU.
 
The Crusaders were 21 of 49 (42.9-percent) from the floor and made 5 of 9 (55.6-percent) from the free-throw line. The Falcons were 21 of 46 (45.7-percent) from the floor and 18 of 24 (75.0-percent) from the charity stripe. SPU out-rebounded NNU 34-23.
 
NNU drops to 10-13 overall and 4-11 in GNAC action.
 
The Crusaders will now be back to home action next Saturday as they host Central Washington University at 7:00 p.m. at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa, Idaho.
