NNU Splits In Day Two In Hawaii

WAIPAHU, Hawaii – After trailing 7-3 in the fifth inning, the Northwest Nazarene University baseball team rallied back to defeat Hawaii Pacific University 13-12 in 10 innings of play at the Hans L'Orange field in Waipahu.
 
Sam Cook and Jon Matos both went 3 for 6 with 3 RBI's. With two runners on base in the top of the 10th inning, Sam Cook hit a shot to left field bringing in both runners and putting the Crusaders up two.
 
Fernando Robles was 4 for 5 from the plate. Jamie Mitchell added 3 RBI's for NNU.
 
Jon Matos earned the win on the mound for NNU in two innings pitched.

In game two, the Sea Warriors came out on top 12-3.

Cook was 2 for 2 from the plate with 1 RBI and was walked twice. Jamie Mitchell was 2 for 4 and had 1 RBI. Barak Frank also had two hits for NNU.

Jeremy Burk recieved the loss on the mound for the Crusaders.

The Crusaders (5-2 overall) will play a single game today in Waipahu today beginning at 5:00 p.m. (MST).
