INDEPENDENCE, Ore. – The Wolves left little for Northwest Nazarene coach Mary Trigg to be pleased about Thursday afternoon.

Western Oregon scored a pair of goals in each half, besting the Crusaders 4-0 in the teams Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's soccer match-up, moved from the WOU campus to Central High School because of rain damage to the Wolves home field.

"We just got out-fought today and we didn't have a lot of heart," Trigg said.

Makana Pundyke's first of two goals on the day, just 8 minutes, 36 seconds into the action, put NNU (1-6-1 overall, 0-4-1 GNAC) in comeback mode early.

Savannah Bogan put Western Oregon (4-2-3, 2-2-1) in front 2-0 in the 24th minute, then Pundyke scored in the 49th minute and Kealakekua Makekau capped the scoring in the 88th minute.

Argia Phillips made six saves in goal for NNU, which was outshot 18-5 in the game.

"Western Oregon just out-fought us," said Trigg, whose team looks to bounce back Saturday when the Crusaders play at St. Martin's.
