No. 6 Falcons Defeat Crusaders 77-62

NAMPA, Idaho – With a balanced attack, the Falcons of Seattle Pacific University slid past the Crusader men's basketball team 77-62 in tonight's Great Northwest Athletic Conference match-up held at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa, Idaho.
 
The Falcons who came into the Johnson Sports Center ranked No. 6 in this week's NABC poll used a second half spark to pull away from a close first-half push by the Crusaders.
 
"We lost to a better team tonight," commented head coach Dave Daniels, "I am proud of the guys' effort and the way that we battled tonight."

Kenny Jones netted 17 points on 8 of 12 shooting and dished out 7 assists to pace the Crusaders. Michal Kurimsky added 15 points and a team-high 6 rebounds.
 
David Downs led the Falcons with 22 points and 6 assists. Downs was 3 of 5 from beyond the three-point line and perfect 9 of 9 from the charity stripe. Patrick Simon added 17 points, Jobi Wall had 15 points while Andy Poling chipped in 10 of his own.
 
The Crusaders who were 25 of 51 (49.0-percent) from the floor fall to 9-6 overall and 3-4 in GNAC play. NNU was 7 of 17 from the three-point line. The Falcons now 12-2 on the year, were 28 of 57 (49.1-percent) from the floor and 9 of 20 from beyond the arc.
 
NNU will be back in action Saturday as they host Montana State University Billings at 7:00 p.m. at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa, Idaho.
