BELMONT, Calif. – Northwest Nazarene University head volleyball coach Jared Sliger earned his 100
th win tonight as the Crusaders swept Notre Dame de Namur University 25-19, 25-17, 25-20 in Belmont, California.
Sliger, who is in his eighth year as NNU's head coach, is now 100-87 overall. "Getting to 100 wins either means you have been coaching a really long time, or your teams have been pretty good. It has been a little of both for me. I am so fortunate to coach at this institution." said Sliger. A 1991 graduate of NNU, Sliger returned to the Crusaders in 2005 after serving as the head assistant coach at the University of Oregon from 2000-2002.

Heather Allen led the Crusaders as she had 10 kills with a hitting percentage of .769,
Becky Flores added 9 kills of her own on 18 attempts.
Michelle Terpstra had a match high of 33 assists while
Linnea Phillips also had a match high of 13 digs.
"Today was a long day and it was good to get the win. We played very well in many aspects of the game." commented Sliger. "Our middle hitters were very tough tonight."
The Crusaders had a team hitting percentage of .452 compared to the Argonauts .181.
NNU improves to 4-1 in regular season play and NDNU drops to 0-4.
The Crusaders will now play in the Route 92 Showcase this weekend, hosted by Cal Sate East Bay and Notre Dame de Namur.
NNU will open play tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. against Humboldt State University in Belmont, California.
