Crusaders top the Clan 3-1

NAMPA, Idaho – The Northwest Nazarene Crusader volleyball team defeated the Simon Fraser University Clan tonight 19-25, 25-12, 25-18, 25-14.
 
NNU was able to bounce back after a loss in set one.
 
“Our serving was the difference in tonight's match,” commented head coach Jared Sliger “ after game one we switched to bomb serving which really made the difference for the last three sets.”
 
Michelle Terpstra had a match high 35 assists along with nine kills. Becky Flores had 9 kills with a hitting percentage of  .421, freshman Linnea Phillips had a match high 25 digs.
 
“ I was happy we got the opportunity to get some other girls in there tonight,” said Sliger. “ Our defensive intensity stepped up tonight and pushed us throughout the match.”
 
The Clan were led by Katie Forsyth, she had 11 kills while Alanna Chan had 24 digs on the night.
 
The Crusaders now go to 8-5 overall and 2-2 in GNAC play. The Clan fall to 2-8 overall and 0-4 in conference action.
 
NNU will travel to Billings, Montana next Thursday to take the Yellow Jackets of Montana State Billings University at 7:00 p.m.
