Crusaders Battle to 0-0 Draw With #2 Falcons

NAMPA, Idaho - The Northwest Nazarene University men's soccer team held #2 nationally ranked Seattle Pacific University to a 0-0 draw in today's Great Northwest Athletic Conference match in Nampa.

The Crusaders were able to battle in today's match to give Seattle Pacific their first tie of the season. The Falcons were 6-0-0 coming into today's game. The Crusaders were also able to shut out the Falcons which no other team has been able to do this season.

"They are a top team and went toe to toe with them, so I'm proud of the boys," commented head coach Coe Michaelson " But our expectation was to win, which shows how far we have come and we are disappointed not to. We had our chances but in the end we can live with it."

The Crusaders had 12 shots as the Falcons had 14. Seattle Pacific was called for 21 fouls while NNU was whistled for 13.

The Crusaders are now 1-0-1 in their last two games against nationally ranked opponents.

NNU goes to 2-2-3 overall and 1-0-2 in GNAC play. The Falcons are now 6-0-1 and 2-0-1 in confernce action. 

NNU will be back on the field Saturday as they host Saint Martins University in Nampa at 3:00 p.m.
