UAA Defeats NNU In Five Sets

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Northwest Nazarene University Crusader volleyball team fell in a five set match tonight against the University of Alaska Anchorage 13-25, 25-23, 22-25, 29-27, 6-15.
 
The Crusaders were able to battle back after dropping the first set 25-13. Michelle Terpstra had 37 assists. Linnea Phillips had a match high 25 digs.
 
The Seawolves were led by Kimya Jafroudi, the setter had a match high 51 assists. Sarah Johnson had 18 kills while Siobhan Johansen had 18 digs.
 
NNU drops to 7-4 overall and 1-1 in GNAC play. The Seawolves are now 7-3 overall and 2-0 in conference action.

"It has been a long three weeks and we are ready for some home cooking," commented head coach Jared Sliger. "Anchorage was very tough on defense and we just didn't make the plays when we needed them." 
 
After 11 away matches the Crusaders will return to Nampa next Thursday for their home opener as they host Western Washington University at 7:00 p.m.
