BELLINGHAM, Wash - The Northwest Nazarene University men's soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw with Western Washington University in today's Great Northwest Athletic Conference match in Bellingham, Washington.
"We were as terrible first half as we were exceptional thereafter. Sometimes when you don't score it is because you just didn't create chance," commented head coach
Coe Michaelson " but today our attacking movement was really good and we were terribly unlucky."
The shots were even at 21-21, but NNU had the best chance to claim a late winner, earning a free kick on the edge of the penalty area in the 107th minute.
Jon Curry had a fantastic bending ball that forced WWU keeper to make a diving save.
"We easily could have scored four or five goals with just a little bit of luck but we feel great about the performance throughout the second half and overtime." said Michaelson.
NNU had seven corner kicks as WWU had six. The Vikings had 15 fouls while the Crusaders had 12.
Crusader goal keeper
