Crusaders fall twice at Western Oregon

| By:
MONMOUTH, Ore. - The Western Oregon University baseball team swept Saturday's GNAC doubleheader from the Crusaders, winning 8-3 and 6-0 at the WOU Baseball Field in Monmouth.

NNU game one starter Zeb Sneed fell to 3-2 on the season as he surrendered three runs, walked three and hit two batters in the opening two innings.

Derek Bettinson went 2 for 4 to lead the Crusaders at the plate, but the Wolves added single runs in the fourth and sixth and put the game away with three in the eighth.

WOU's Travis Bradshaw (4-1) tossed a complete-game five-hitter at the Crusaders in the nightcap, limiting NNU to five singles.

The Wolves (15-6, 4-0 GNAC) scored five first-inning runs against starter Sean McDonald (2-2), who also went the distance on the mound, giving up just one additional run in the final five WOU innings.

The Crusaders, now 11-8 overall and 0-4 in GNAC play, will host The College of Idaho on Tuesday in a single game at Vail Field.
