MONMOUTH, Ore. - The Northwest Nazarene University men's basketball team fell 67-56 tonight against Western Oregon University in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game at the New P.E. Building in Monmouth.

The Crusaders (12-13, 6-11 GNAC) led 33-30 at the half but were held to only 23 second-half points and a shooting percentage of just 29.6-percent (8-27) in the second period.

Keith Moilanen led NNU with 16 points and Jonathan Hawkins chipped in 10.  JB Pillard scored nine and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

Western Oregon (18-8, 11-6 GNAC) was led by Kyle Long with 17 points and eight rebounds, Blair Wheadon scored 15 and Kolton Nelson added 11.

The Wolves out-rebounded the Crusaders 37-28 and forced 13 turnovers, 10 of which came on Wolves steals, as both Wheadon and Long had three each.

Despite tonight's loss, the Crusaders are still in the hunt for a GNAC post-season bid thanks to Saint Martin's defeating Central Washington 99-84 tonight in Lacey, Wash.  If the Crusaders can win at Saint Martin's on Saturday night and Central Washington falls at Western Oregon, the Crusaders can grab the sixth, and final, playoff spot for next week's tournament as NNU holds the tie-breaker over Central Washington.
