Kenny Jones threw in a dunk in the final seconds of overtime to help lift the Northwest Nazarene University men's basketball team past Saint Martin's University 66-65 in tonight's Great Northwest Athletic Conference match-up.
Jones drove past the SMU defense and was able to put down a one-handed dunk with just .04-seconds remaining in overtime. The transfer out of UCLA, Jones finished the game with 23 points on 7 of 16 shooting from the floor and 9 of 10 from the foul line. Senior
Jonathan Hawkins added 16 points on 4 of 5 shooting from beyond the three-point line while also grabbing six rebounds.

Rei Jensen had a game-high of 29 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Saints. Jensen was 12 of 19 from the floor. Evan Coulter had 13 points on 3 of 7 from beyond the arc and also pulled down 7 rebounds for SMU.
The Crusaders now jump to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in GNAC play. NNU was 23 of 59 (39-percent) from the floor and 12 of 15 (80-percent) from the foul line. SMU shot 26 of 66 (39.4-percent) from the field and 7 of 14 (50-percent) from the foul line.
NNU will now return home to face The College of Idaho on Tuesday at 7:07 p.m. for game two of the United Heritage Insurance Mayor's Cup held at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa, Idaho.
