'Lopes Top The Crusaders 74-68

PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Northwest Nazarene University men's basketball team fell 74-68 to Grand Canyon University in tonight's non-conference match up in Phoenix, Arizona.
 
Jonathan Hawkins and Kevin Rima led the Crusaders with 18 points individually. Hawkins was 6 of 15 from the field and 3 of 9 from beyond the arc. Rima was 8 of 9 from the floor. Keith Moilanen added 13 points with four three-point buckets for NNU. Michal Kurimsky led the Crusaders on the glass with seven rebounds.
 
Grand Canyon was led by Joshua Lowery's 21 points and 6 rebounds. Lowery was 7 of 10 from the floor and 6 of 8 from the charity stripe. Teammate Jerome Garrison added 18 points on 9 of 10 from the free-throw line.
 
The Crusaders were 49.0-percent (25-51) from the field and 66.7-percent (10-15) from the foul line. The 'Lopes were 43.8-percent (21-48) from the floor and 81.3-percent (26-32) from the foul line.
 
NNU will now face The Academy of Art University tomorrow at 7:15 p.m. in Phoenix, Arizona.
