SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Northwest Nazarene University men's basketball team defeated Point Loma Nazarene 53-36 in tonight's regular season match-up in San Diego, California.
 
Senior Kenny Jones led the Crusaders with 15 points on 7 of 14 shooting while grabbing five rebounds. Jonathan Hawkins chipped in 11 points, hitting three of five from beyond the arc and pulling down six rebounds.
 
A.J. Ussery led the Sea Lions with eight points on three of eight shooting from the field. Sam Okhotin pulled down five rebounds for PLNU.
 
The Crusaders were 36.5-percent (19 of 52) from the field and 73.3-percent (11 of 15) from the foul line. The Sea Lions were 30.4-percent (14 of 46) from the floor and 9.1-percent (2 of 22) from beyond the arc.
 
NNU now jumps to 2-1 overall. PLNU drops to 1-2 overall. The Crusaders will now travel to face Grand Canyon University next Friday at 5:00 p.m. in Phoenix,  Arizona.
