NAMPA, Idaho - Becky Flores pounded out a match-high 17 kills as the Northwest Nazarene University volleyball team defeated Montana State University Billings in four sets 25-18, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22 tonight in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match at the Johnson Sports Center.

Flores led a trio of Crusaders into double-figures as Carly Dranginis added 13 kills and Heather Allen recorded 10.  NNU improves to 12-12 overall and 5-8 in conference matches with the victory.

Coming off a five-set win over Seattle Pacific on Thursday the Crusaders continued to block well, posting an 11 to four edge over the Yellowjackets, led by Allen with five and both Flores and Elayna Rice with four.  Rice also finished with nine kills and 12 digs.

"Our middle's were really good tonight," commented NNU head coach Jared Sliger on the performances of Flores and Allen.  "And Taylor (VanValey) came off the bench and provided a huge spark exactly when we needed it."  VanValey finished with five kills, hitting .400 in her two sets of action.

The 'Jackets (9-11, 6-6 GNAC) were led by Monica Grimsrud who matched Flores with a game-high 17 kills.  Taylor Adams added 14 and Jody Lutz had 13.

Michelle Terpstra led all setters with 47 assists and also had 10 digs and six kills.

The Crusaders will play their next four matches on the road beginning next Friday afternoon when they travel to Walla Walla University for a 2:00 p.m. PT non-conference match against the Wolves.
