LACEY, Wash. - The Northwest Nazarene University women's soccer team tied Saint Martin's University 0-0 in today's Great Northwest Athletic Conference soccer match.
The Crusaders 7-9-1 overall earned their first draw of 2012 season.
“It was a bit of a crazy game today, there were 44 fouls called and it was pretty end to end.” Commented head coach Jamie Lindvall. “Their keeper came up big on several of our opportunities and I thought we did very well being dangerous offensively but also played very organized defensively as a team.”
The Crusaders had 14 shots with 6 on target while the Saints had 11 shots with 4 on goal.
Whitney Wood had five shots for NNU with three requiring saves. NNU was charged with 26 fouls and the SMU was credited with 18.

Tanya Zickefoose had four saves for NNU while Ashley Engel had five saves for SMU.
“I'm proud of our girls' level and work rate today” said Lindvall.
The Crusaders go to 7-9-1 overall and 4-8-1 in GNAC play. The Saints are now 7-9-1 overall and 5-7-1 in conference.
NNU will travel to Monmouth, Oregon tomorrow to take on the Wolves of Western Oregon University in the Crusaders final regular season match at 11:00 a.m.
