Boxscore

NAMPA, Idaho – Sarah Blum netted her first goal of the season lifting the Crusaders past the Clan of Simon Fraser University 1-0 in today's GNAC women's soccer match.

Both teams would go scoreless in the first half of play. NNU had nine shots in the first period while SFU had two.

In the 61st minute of play Autumn Yturbe was able to find Sarah Blum as Blum scored from 15 yards out to put the Crusaders up 1-0. SFU's Amanda Gilliland came out of goal giving Blum the open opportunity.

"We created some quality chances today and frankly I thought we were very dangerous in the final third. SFU definitely adjusted at half and made it more challenging for us," commented head coach Jamie Lindvall.  "But I thought we did a good job on maintaining our composure and then Blum did a great job of putting away the game winner."

NNU had 16 shots with 8 of them on goal. SFU had five total shots with 2 on goal.

Tanya Zickefoose had 2 saves for the Crusaders while Gilliland had 7 for the Clan.

NNU jumps to 7-8-0 overall and 4-7-0 in GNAC play. SFU falls to 1-13-0 overall and 0-11-0 in conference.

The Crusader women will be in home action for the final time this season on Saturday as they host Western Washington University at Noon.
