SEATTLE, Wash. - The Northwest Nazarene University men's soccer team tied #9 Seattle Pacific University 0-0 in tonight's Great Northwest Athletic Conference soccer match.
The Crusaders remain undefeated in conference action after tonight's tie moving to 7-2-4 overall and 6-0-3 in GNAC play. NNU is also the only opponent SPU has faced this year that has not allowed the Falcons to score.
"SPU really came after us tonight and we faced significant adversity throughout," commented head coach
Coe Michaelson. "They are an exceptional team, but we deserved that point tonight."
NNU was carded with six yellow cards and one red card in the match while SPU earned two yellow's. The Crusaders had a total of 30 fouls to the Falcons 22.

Alfredo Ontiveros posted a shutout. He stopped four shots and teammate
Sal Sanchez denied a dangerous chance, blocking a header by SPU's Jon Pearman near the goal line in the fifth minute of the first overtime. Zach Johnson had two saves for the Falcons in the shutout.
"We fought and battled and I could not have asked for anything more from the guys." said Michaelson.
The Crusaders will return to home action next Thursday as they host NSCAA #4 Simon Fraser University at 5:00 p.m. in Nampa, Idaho.
