#25 Seawolves defeat NNU 81-64

NAMPA, Idaho - Kyle Fossman scored a game-high 26 points to lead the 25th-ranked University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves past Northwest Nazarene 81-64 tonight in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game at the Johnson Sports Center.

Fossman hit on nine of 10 shots from the floor, including a six of seven effort from the three-point line, to help UAA improve to 14-4 overall and 8-2 in GNAC play.

The Crusaders (9-9, 3-7 GNAC) were led by Jonathan Hawkins with 14 and Jordan Nicholes with 12.  JB Pillard added 10 points and a team high seven rebounds.

Joining Fossman in double figures were Steve White with 16 and Abebe Demissie with 11.  Fossman also led the Seawolves effort on the glass with six as UAA outrebounded the Crusaders 32 to 16.

UAA shot 58.7-percent (27-46) from the floor and an impressive 57.9-percent (11-19) from the three-point line while holding the Crusaders to 46.9-percent (23-49) from the field and 32-percent (8-25) from the arc.

Both head coaches and their assistants joined all National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) member coaches tonight, wearing sneakers instead of dress shoes with their suits during this weekends games to demonstrate their support for the American Cancer Society and its vision of a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
