BURNABY, B.C. - JB Pillard led four Northwest Nazarene players into double-figures with a 22 point - 19 rebound double-double as the Crusaders defeated Simon Fraser University 88-81 tonight in a conference game in Burnaby, B.C.

Pillard, who set a new career-high mark with 19 rebounds, paced the balanced NNU offensive effort that included Anthony Golden with 19, Jonathan Hawkins with 18 and C.J. Shula with a season-high 13.

NNU improves to 9-7 overall and 3-5 in conference games, while SFU falls to 6-10 overall and 1-7 in GNAC counters.

Justin Brown led the Clan with a game-high 23 and Jordan Sergent finished with a 20 point - 10 rebound double-double.  Connor Lewis added 15 points and a game-best five assists.

The Crusaders held the the Clan to 38.6-percent (22-57) shooting on the night and a 23.8-percent (5-21) clip from the three-point line. 

SFU converted 32 of 39 (82.1-percent) free-throws, while the Crusaders were 23 of 30 (76.7-percent), in a game that featured 46 fouls called.

The Crusaders will travel to Western Washington University for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off against the Vikings on Saturday night.
