NAMPA, Idaho - Andy Poling scored a game-high 23 points to lead Seattle Pacific to a 71-66 conference victory over Northwest Nazarene tonight at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa.

Poling finished 8 of 11 from the field and hit seven of eight free throws on the night.  He was joined in double-figures by Cory Hutsen with 12 and Jobi Wall with 11.

The Crusaders (8-7, 2-5 GNAC), who jumped out to a 6-0 lead, kept the game close throughout and trailed 34-35 at the half.

The Falcons (14-3, 6-2 GNAC) led by as many as 12 (65-53, 2:03) in the second half, but 2 of 6 free throw shooting, combined with three pointers by Anthony Golden and Keith Moilanen and a bucket by Jonathan Hawkins saw NNU slice the lead to just four at 67-63 with 35-seconds to play.

SPU would convert four of six free throws in the final seconds to seal the victory.

"I was proud of how hard the kids battled tonight," commented NNU head coach Dave Daniels.  "We had it down to a two-possession game at the end when the lead was four...I thought we had a four or five minute stretch in the second half that cost us the game."

Golden led the Crusaders with 16, while Moilanen and Hawkins each scored 12.  JB Pillard scored 11 and Michal Kurimsky finished with six points and six rebounds.

The Falcons held a 32-27 edge on the glass, led by Poling with eight.  Both teams committed just six turnovers and handed out 16 assists, led by NNU's Hawkins with a game-high six.

SPU finished the game with a 23 to 4 advantage at the free throw line as the Falcons were 23 of 33 (69.7-percent), while the Crusaders were just 4 of 8.  The foul count ended at 13 to 23 in favor of the Falcons.

The Crusaders will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C. for a GNAC counter.
