Steele leads Crusaders to 1-0 shutout over Simon Fraser

Nampa, Idaho - Julianne Steele scored the game-winner with just under two minutes to play in regulation to give the Northwest Nazarene women's soccer team a 1-0 shutout conference victory over Simon Fraser University on Saturday afternoon in Nampa.

Steele converted in the 88th-minute from 15 yards away, courtesy of a Whitney Wood assist, to improve the Crusaders to 2-2 in GNAC play and 4-4 overall.

Simon Fraser held a 10-6 advantage in shots but was turned away by Crusader goalkeeper Tanya Zickefoose.  Zickefoose made seven saves in securing her fourth shutout of the season.

NNU will return to action next weekend on the road, playing at Central Washington and Seattle Pacific.
