Abbott leads Crusaders past Wildcats

NAMPA, Idaho - Haley Abbott led four Crusaders into double figures as the Northwest Nazarene University volleyball team defeated Central Washington University in four sets on Thursday night in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match at the Johnson Sports Center.

Abbott recorded a team-high 16 kills as the Crusaders (5-4, 3-2) lost the opening set 19-25 before bouncing back to take three straight 25-18, 25-22, 25-22 for the league victory.  Kaitlyn Tuholski had 11 kills and 30 assists and both Carly Dranginis and Becky Flores had 10 kills.

Jordan Offutt led the Wildcats (8-5, 2-3) with a match-high 17 kills and Cheltzie Williams had 14.  Carlee Marble led all players with 42 assists.

The Crusaders will now host Walla Walla University on Saturday evening at 7:50 p.m. in a non-conference match.
