#16 Falcons defeat Crusaders in four

NAMPA, Idaho - The Northwest Nazarene volleyball team fell in four sets to 16th-ranked nationally Seattle Pacific University 18-25, 19-25, 25-21, 17-25 on Saturday night in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match at the Johnson Sports Center.

 

Lindsey Wodrich led the Falcons (2-0 GNAC, 7-3) with a double-double of 17 kills and 15 assists.  Paige Hoffman added 14 kills, Nikki Lowell had 12 and Anna Herold led all defenders with 30 digs.

 

Kaitlyn Tuholski paced the Crusaders (2-2 GNAC, 4-4) with 11 kills and Kailey Trautmann had 18 digs.

 

SPU held the Crusaders to a .056 hitting percentage in the second set, but NNU bounced back to claim set three, out-hitting the Falcons .289 to .079 coming out of the break.  However, SPU regained their form in the fourth set with a match-best 16 kills to claim the match.

 

The Crusaders will host Central Washington University next Thursday in a GNAC counter and host Walla Walla University on Saturday evening in a non-conference match-up.
