MONMOUTH, Ore. - League-leading Western Oregon University swept the Crusaders 4-0 and 2-1 on Friday afternoon as the Northwest Nazarene University baseball team completed Great Northwest Athletic Conference play for 2011.

The Wolves (33-13, 23-5) clinched no worse than a tie for their 10th-straight GNAC title, while the Crusaders fell just one win short of matching the school record for most wins in a season, completing the year at 31-17 overall and an even 16-16 in conference games.  The Crusaders did set a new single-season record for winning percentage, winning .620 percent of their games in 2011.

WOU's Grady Wood (7-4) tossed a complete-game one-hitter in the opener, holding the Crusaders to just a Ryan VanBeek single in the fourth.  Charles Pollock (5-4) took the loss for the Crusaders, surrendering three earned runs in the opening two innings.

The Wolves scored twice in the fourth inning of the nightcap and held the Crusaders to one run despite NNU out-hitting WOU 6 to 3.  Sean McDonald plated the Crusaders tally in the fifth, but it wasn't enough as the Wolves scored twice in the bottom of the fourth and held on for the victory.

Logan Parker and Zach Hibbard each had two hits for the Crusaders in game two and Zeb Sneed fell to 2-4 on the season with the pitching loss.
