Crusaders roll past Simon Fraser 102-86

BURNABY, B.C. - The Northwest Nazarene University men's basketball team rolled past Simon Fraser University 102-86 on Thursday night in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest in Burnaby, British Columbia.
 
The Crusaders (11-11, 7-8 GNAC) were led by the inside duo of Brian Barkdoll and Darious Walker who each posted season-high scoring totals with 23 and 22 points, respectively.  Barkdoll also posted his sixth double-double of the season with a game-high 12 rebounds.
 
Also in double-figures for the Crusaders were Drew Eisinger with 15 and both Jamie Eisinger and Paul Egwuonwu added 12.  Jamie Eisinger finished with a season-high nine assists and Drew Eisinger had a season-best eight helpers as the Crusaders dished out 28 assists against only 10 turnovers. 
 
A season-high assist mark for the team, NNU also shot a season-high 64.3-percent (45-70) from the field and an even 50-percent (5-10) from the three point line.  In their last three games the Crusaders have shot 61.6-percent (106-172) from the floor and have won three-straight for the first time this season.
 
The Clan (3-18, 2-13 GNAC) were led by Justin Brown's game-high 25 points, while Ibrahim Appiah scored 23 and Ricky Berry added 20.  SFU finished 30-of-65 (46.2-percent) from the floor and 8-of-23 (34.8-percent) from the three point line.
 
SFU out-scored the Crusaders at the foul line 18 to 7, but were out-rebounded 33 to 31.
 
NNU led by just four at 32-28 with 5:41 to play in the first half, but finished the opening period on a 20 to 12 run to lead 52-40 at the half. 
 
The Crusaders continued to pour it on out of the break, pushing the lead to 20 at 64-44 after a Barkdoll lay-in and then extending the lead to as many as 28 with 8:47 to play after Anthony Golden buried a triple off a Walker assist.  Walker matched his season-high mark with four assists as the Crusaders broke the 100-point barrier for the second time this season.
 
NNU will travel to Western Washington University on Saturday for a GNAC counter against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m.  The Crusaders defeated WWU 88-86 in overtime on January 22nd in Nampa.
