NAMPA, Idaho - JB Pillard scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Northwest Nazarene men's basketball team to a 73-63 victory over The College of Idaho tonight in the second game of the United Heritage Mayors' Cup for 2011.

The Crusaders swept the two-game series this year and have now won five-straight, matching the longest winning streak for NNU in the series that dates back to the 1933-34 season.  Tonight's game was the 192nd meeting of the two Canyon-County rivals.

Pillard scored his 27 points on eight of 10 shooting from the field and was 10 of 11 from the free throw line.  Anthony Golden finished with 22 points, including four three-pointers, and was a perfect six of six from the free throw line while Keith Moilanen added 13.

Matt Ballenger led the Coyotes (4-7) with 21 and both Rodney Delgardo and Krispin Banks reached double-figures with 14 and 10, respectively.

The Crusaders (5-3 overall) edged the Coyotes 29 to 27 on the glass and the shooting percentages were nearly identical at 47.3-percent (26-55) for C of I and 48-percent (24-50) for NNU but the difference came at the foul line where NNU finished 18 of 20 (90-percent) while C of I was just 4 of 5 for the night.  Jordan Nicholes led the Crusaders with nine rebounds and Pillard hustled for six.

NNU will now join C of I this weekend to play in the C of I - NNU Holiday Classic, hosted this year at The College of Idaho.  NNU will face the University of Montana Western on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. while the Coyotes will play Multnomah University at 8:00 p.m. at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center on the C of I campus.  The teams will switch opponents on Saturday evening.
