NNU falls 85-62 at Alaska Anchorage

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - University of Alaska Anchorage forward Taylor Rohde scored a game-high 17 points to lead the 20th-ranked Seawolves to an 85-62 league victory over the Crusaders this afternoon at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex in Anchorage.

The Crusaders (7-5, 1-3 GNAC) were led by Keith Moilanen and Anthony Golden who each scored 15.  JB Pillard added 12 points and a team-best five rebounds, but the Crusaders were out-rebounded 32-23.

Rohde helped the Seawolves improve to 9-2 overall and 3-0 in GNAC play as UAA shot 59.6-percent (31-52) from the field and 47.4-percent (9-19) from the three-point line.

Travis Thompson scored 15 on six-of-seven shooting and Kyle Fossman chipped in 13.  Marcus Jackson scored 10 and Steve White finished with seven points and a game-high 10 assists.

Northwest Nazarene shot 41.2-percent (21-51) from the floor, but were held to a 9 of 27 (33.3-percent) clip in the first half as UAA jumped out to a quick lead and led 44-24 at the break.

The Crusaders will play one game next week, a GNAC counter at Central Washington University next Saturday night at 7 p.m.
