NAMPA, Idaho - Rebounding from a loss on Thursday night the Northwest Nazarene volleyball team swept past Saint Martin's University 25-13, 25-19, 25-21 tonight in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match at the Johnson Sports Center.
The Crusaders finish the month of October with 8 wins and just 2 losses, improving to 15-6 overall and 10-4 in GNAC action after tonight's victory. NNU entered the week ranked 7th in the West after the first NCAA D.II West Regional Poll was released on Wednesday.
The Saints (6-16, 4-11 GNAC) were paced by Kristyn Ross with a match-high 13 kills and Katy Ferguson also reached double-figures with 10.
NNU out-hit the Saints .302 to .231 and held a four to one block advantage.
The Crusaders will be back in action next weekend, traveling North to face Alaska Anchorage on Thursday and Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday. Thursday's match will be a key league battle as UAA is second in the conference and the Crusaders are fourth.
