BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Chris Voth scored twice to lead the Northwest Nazarene men's soccer team to a 2-1 overtime conference victory over Western Washington University on Saturday night at Orca Field in Bellingham.

Trailing 1-0 at the half as WWU's Tye Hastings scored the opening goal in the 12th minute, Voth scored his first goal just after the break, heading home a low shot off Dan Starbuck's free kick in the 46th minute.

Voth struck the game winner in the third minute of extra time, scoring from 10-yards away courtesy of a Nate Hamm assist.

"What a great win," commented NNU head coach Coe Michaelson.  "After some poor patches in the first half, I don't think we could have put any more into that second half and overtime effort.  We willed ourselves to victory tonight."

NNU Zander Engeman made eight saves and WWU's Keegan Rogers allowed both goals but did not record a save.  WWU held a 19-6 shot advantage and a 5-2 edge in corners.

Michaelson continued, "Just a great team effort.  It's great to finally say that not only did we deserve victory, but we attained victory."

The Crusaders will return to action next Saturday, hosting Montana State Billings in their final match of the season.
