NAMPA, Idaho - Simon Fraser University was awarded an "own" goal with 4:22 remaining in the second half Saturday as it defeated Northwest Nazarene University 1-0 in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match at the NNU Soccer Field.

SFU's Aly Benes took a shot which was headed in by NNU's Liz Gross for the game-winner.

The game was a defensive standoff for the most part as both teams took just eight shots.

Only four shots were "on" goal as Clan keeper Amelia Ng made just one save to record the shutout. Tanya Zickefoose had three saves for the Crusaders.

Simon Fraser, which had a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks, improved to 4-2, including 3-1 in the GNAC. Northwest Nazarene fell to 3-5, 1-3 in the conference.
