Crusaders Fall 1-0 to Coyotes in Season Opener

NAMPA, Idaho - The College of Idaho scored a second-half goal to defeat Northwest Nazarene University 1-0 in the season-opening non-conference match for the Canyon County rivals.
 
Kelly Hardegree-Ullman tallied the game-winner in the 57th-minute, taking advantage of two nice assisting passes, one from Jessica Patton, who played a cross to Erika Mouritsen, and Mouritsen found Hardegree-Ullman for the goal from 8-yards out.
 
The Coyotes held a 12-8 shot advantage and both teams earned three corner kicks in the match.
 
NNU goalkeeper Tanya Zickefoose had six saves, while C of I keeper Melissa Holmes made four.
 
The Crusaders will return to the pitch on Saturday, hosting the University of Great Falls in a non-conference match at 1:00 p.m.
