NAMPA - Salvador Sanchez scored two second-half goals to lead the Northwest Nazarene men's soccer team to a 2-1 conference victory over Montana State University Billings on Saturday afternoon at the NNU Soccer Field in Nampa.

After playing a scoreless opening half, the Yellowjackets struck first when Garion Holian headed home a ball played forward by Ryan Covey for his second goal of the season in the 52nd minute.  Holian's header came from 8-yards out and beat sprawling NNU goalkeeper Mitch Rice inside the left post.

Sanchez evened the tally in the 66th minute, blasting a shot from 12-yards into the upper right corner after two one-touch passes from Ben, and then to brother, Alex Mangeac, finding Sanchez ready to strike.

The game-winner came in the 79th minute when Sanchez took Jose Oregon's pass at the top of the box and found himself one-on-one with MSUB keeper Matt Mitchell.  Sanchez dribbled once and sent a low shot inside the right post from 15-yards to seal the victory for the Crusaders.

NNU outshot the 'Jackets 8-6, with all eight shots coming in the second half of play.  MSU Billings held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.  Mitchell made one save for MSUB, while Rice hustled for three for NNU.

The Crusaders improve to 5-4-0 overall and 2-3-0 in GNAC play, while MSUB falls to 5-5-1 overall and 1-4-0 in league action.

NNU will return to action on Monday when they travel to The College of Idaho to meet the Coyotes at 3:00 p.m. at Simplot Stadium.
