Try leads Wildcats past Crusaders

NAMPA, Idaho - Central Washington's Kady Try posted a match-high 19 kills as the Wildcats defeated Northwest Nazarene 26-28, 25-16, 25-16, 25-15 on Saturday night in a league match at the Johnson Sports Center.
 
The Crusaders (5-14, 5-7 GNAC) were led by Becky Flores with 11 kills and Carly Dranginis with 10.  NNU's Haley Hevern and CWU's Brandie Vea each had 18 digs to lead the defensive effort.
 
Central Washington (9-8, 6-5 GNAC) hit .211 in the match, led by Try's .366 effort and Kristel Baeckel, who hit .333 with 10 kills.  The Wildcats were also effective at the service line, outscoring NNU 10-3.  Carlee Marble handed out a match-best 41 assists while NNU's Briana Claassen finished with 37.
 
The Crusaders will travel to Western Oregon University next Thursday and Saint Martin's University one week from tonight.
