Wolves over Crusaders in Four

NAMPA, Idaho - The Northwest Nazarene University volleyball team fell 25-23, 16-25, 23-25, 18-25 to Western Oregon University on Saturday night in a GNAC match at the Johnson Sports Center on the NNU campus.
 
The Wolves (7-6, 5-3 GNAC) take control of fourth place in the conference race and were led by Danielle Reese with 14 kills, 15 digs, and seven of the 13 service aces handed out by WOU.
 
NNU (4-9, 4-4 GNAC) was paced by Becky Flores with 11 kills, 12 digs, and six blocks, while Haley Hevern and Kailey Trautman led the Crusader defense with 18 digs each.
 
The Crusaders took the opening set 25-23, hitting .278 and holding the Wolves to a .147 mark, but Western Oregon battled back to win three straight and hold the Crusaders to a .124 clip in the match.
 
NNU will return to action next weekend as the Red and Black travel north to face Alaska Fairbanks on Thursday and Alaska Anchorage one week from tonight.
